I think he was ;)
Don;t know about Tribes 2. I did not buy it because I heard there were so many bugs with it. It also had to do with the fact that my poor old P2 450 would prolly have a heart attack if I loaded it up :) ........ Would be interested to know because Tribes was pretty cool and I am upgrading my PC very soon......
OT: Anyway since when is screwed a cuss word.

I'm pretty sure the subject line was changed.
As for T2, it ran on my PII 350. That's not to say it ran smoothly. Nooo, sir. But it was playable most of the time. As long as bots were disabled.
Now...due to Tribes2's script-based code, a lot of cheats have surfaced, exploits, crappy mods, etc. and I decided to give up, especially after Dinamix's rather unexpected shutdown. I know not what happened since then, though I doubt those SWAT 3 guys have done much.
Also, the forums have suffered major reconstructions. As far as I can tell, not much posting goes on there anymore.

Right, but is internet multiplayer still playabe I.e do i have to worry about lag on a cable modem?

It was playable on my cable modem. You just have to find a server that is good for it to work good.

No way.
For a start, cable modem=kick ass at any game, so I don't know what you're worrying about.
And second, I used to really like T2 because it has very lag-independant gameplay. Unless you're the sniping type, which I sure AINT, then capping flags across sweeping landscapes, destroying gens and turrets from hidey holes and flying planes and using weapons with blast radii several barn doors wide is a cinch on any ping.
Considering killing is not even the aim of the game, and you can cap three times in a row without firing a shot, there is no need to worry. T2 is the first and so far only FPS game that I felt there was no/little enough not to worry about unfair competitive advantage on the side of the LPB's. And I'm a double plus HPB.
Yup, i agree with Walker - i play on 56k/1.4 Athlon and lag is rarely an issue for me. Sniping and shriking is a problem, but i couldnt care less coz i play as HO :)

it's actually hard to kill HPBs because you fokkers skip around so much

Agreed Rod... sniping a capper, following their path, and clicking only to find out that they stopped a few meters back :)
what're y'all's in game name?

i usually do menial things as i'm not too good at skiing
...like taking control of the rocket launcher on the mpb
i like blowing up ppl that r on the ground with it....they never expect that! :)
i've also gotten pretty good at being a transport pilot
something else i like to do is get in my assassin duds, sit by my own generators and shock juggernauts that try to come and blow them up.....that's always fun
or while i am an assassin, i go to the enemy launchpad and take turns hiding under it and coming out to tip over their vehicles with a well placed shock or shock ppl on the veh pad while they are ordering....
annoying little tricks y'now

Ohoho, I luuuuurve shocking vehics. A more satisfying act does not exist in any game. Catch 'em just under the exhaust...joy as they flip like burgers, fully loaded.
On a par used to be climbing in a fully juggernaut-loaded enemy transport on their pad and piloting it as high as it goes, then steaming on 10 km out from anywhere, landing and kamikaziing in front of them. I used to just wet myself with laughter when I imagined their faces.
But when the patches introduced vehic beam-in that one went up the spout, along with any stealing tactics.

Actually, it is still possible to steal an enemy vehicle although it doesn't work very well. You have to kill whoever bought the vehicle before the vehicle finishes building, then you can hop in. (or find a juggernaut who decided to buy a one, they don't fit in pilot seats, leaving the vehicle wide open).
