I don't have the Necron Codex but I have briefly read it. I know that the Pariahs are soulless and have some creepy aura around them, much like the Imperial Culexis Assassins, who are also soulless. I suspect that the Pariahs are humans with the soulless gene which recruits for the Culexis temple have who have undergone a simliar procedure to what changed the Necrontyr to Necrons. Does anyone have a clearer/better explanation.
And why don't pariahs get up?

More or less, I think so yes. Both Pariah's and Culexus Assassins have the Pariah gene which makes them soulless. Some are rounded up by the Officio Assassinorum and trained as Assassins. Others, however, fall prey to the C'tan and end up in less favourable circumstances...

Why don't Pariahs get up? They are already 36pts for the one model. That's about as much as a Terminator, no? Factor in the WBB rule, and their cost sky-rockets even more.

yeah but pariahs suck, i know this sounds odd, cos they have a warsctyhe and all. but they only get 1 attack, so against basic troops they get over whelmed and wiped out, against termins they rock tho, as the termie sqauds are usally only 5 strong, so they can be wiped out quickly.

Yes, while Pariahs are very good on paper, their role on the battlefield is limited, and such many Necron players prefer to have just normal warriors or Immortals to keep up the Phase Out limit.

You said it yourself, guppy. Very useful against limited, strong armoured guys. Against mass hordes Flayed Ones are bette.r

I have yet to use Pariahs myself. I'm saving them for 2000+ games.

at first i took pariahs but then after a couple of mathces were they were stuck in combat with units of orks and eldar for like 3 turns, i got immortals instead, i can have more, they can get back up, and the necron lord they are supporting can do all the hardwork in CC.

Culexes own against Ulthwe though. Come to think of it that's about all they own though (except Tzeentch but how many of them do you see around).

there is no concrete fluff that i've read that actually links paraihs and celuxes(sp) assasins, all that i know is that the eldar despise the assasins, and cant destroy them even though they know where the temple is (farseer looked at all paths leading form the death of the planet and only saw the death of his own craftworld) and tha the paraihs are the C'tans ideal for the universe using human evolution.... this could ofcourse have much to do with the dragon (C'tan who is in stasis on mars) and the adeptus mechanicus(sp)

culexes assaissins arnt actually that good, like most of the assassins they can only really take one target, i tried to use em against seer councils, but they are 2 big, and some have WS 5 making them hard to kill when u only have like 3 or 4 attacks.

they arnt bad on taking out lone cykers(spelling?) or small shooty units, or the tau, just charge into a tau squad and rip it to shreads, might take a while but its a funny as well to fight crappy tau in CC with one of the CC monsters of warhammer universe. in my opinion eversor was more useful, as he can get 10 attacks, witha power weapon which always wound on 4+ unless better, coupled with his charge range of 12" he can cause quite a bit of damage. but now that screens cant be used its not so good as he can get picked out and shot down.

but yeah both are souless, the fluff about eldar not killing the temple is in the necron codex aint it? im guessing its cos the culexes will help to fight the necrons and more importantly the ctan.

i reckon they should do another world wide campaign but this time the full extent of the necron empire rises up from its tombs along with the 2 (?) other ctans to take on the imperium and anyone else who wants a kicking, in other words they should try to re claim their empire, which i think was as vast if not more so than that of the imperium.

1) yes its in the necron codex b) not sure why, all it said was that he saw the death of the craftworld

2)there is a huge campaine set for the summer i think next year, involving the awakening of the dragon (3rd of the FOUR remaining C'Tan) from MARS!!!

Speculation, but from what I have heard (and beleive) probably correct.

On the subject of connecting Culexus Assassins and Pariah's:
The very fact that Eldar peice is included in Codex: Necrons should be evidence enough. Why else put it in? Take up space?

Quick point for anyone who read Caves of Ice (and if you haven't why not?) it sounds like the Culexes may be useful against Necrons in a similar way to blanks (assuming they aren't already).

Really? How so?

The soulles thing is disruptive to the warp and in caves of ice the suspiciously similar 'blank' talent messes with the 'crons heads (letting Cain get away the lucky beggar).

Bet that was handy :)

Nice trick...
