basically get your troops into CC as fast as you bloody well can without being blown to pieces, and your use lances and bikes/scourges to take out the tanks

I hope your not having to go the length of the table, because you dont have a lot of transport. My friend instead of doing just a raider rush, would have an army of about half in raiders and half walking. He doesnt have a lot of Ordenance so I would say walk half your army, because Im guessing he has a lot of heavy weapons, just fleet of foot them across the board, while you have another half in raiders. He wont know what to shoot at, because the raiders are coming fast but if he focuses on them too much your troops on foot will get in close combat and tear them apart. I dont know, it worked quite well for my friend. Sorry if i misread anything or said anything that didnt make sense because its really late.

he doesn't have much transport as you said... so i dont think he can mount half his army in raiders.... but he should get some more lol

haha yep, this is the least transport ive seen in a DE army.

Well dude your DE army is inhibited by it's lack of mobility which is their major strength also the DE armies points values take into account the cost of special rules that it doesn't seem you are using.
Always being the attacker is GOOD playing kill all missions with an army that is fragile against an opponent that is going to outnumber you and not utilizing your armies speed. I think you ar going to loose.

The other thing is that, against an army like guard, you need a good balence of vehicles and walking because if you are only walking their guns are going to mow you down before you get a shot off. It would be really hard to beat with your current set up especially if he brings lots of weapons platforms. You really need a way to get close.

Jetbiking Haemonculi with Destructors are a pig to deal with and they can happily nuke command squads at a shocking rate.
Wyches in Raiders will also be very useful.

yea CC againsed a guard army is effective
you will just need to wach the fire
does he have the sharp shooters ability?
if he does then you want to keep your walking troops in as much cover as you can find

KIIIILLLLLLL the command squad. It is the source of all of the Imperial guards leadership. You kill the command they will run away so easily when you get in close combat with them.

i know his 1000pts army list now
it is the demolisher
a basalisk
a battle tank
10 storm troopers and
13 geanstealers
that is it
last time i faced him in a fourway battle and i wiped him out within the first 3 turns and i am going to do it again when we face in the final
in this tree bracket im talking about i am the only one with a perfect record of 3-0
there are 3 2-1 that are doing a 3 way meat grinder to find out who will face me a tau army the i.g. and a chaos army then there are 2 0-3 armys that will battle for 5 and 6 place
i had to face the space marines 3 times and defeated them each time and now i will be facing a harder opponent
which i belive will be the tau
the kid that plays chaos is all infanty based no tanks no elites no hq no F.A. just troops so he will lose the tau and i.g. forces are evenly matched but the tau commander is so much better tactily then even me so i belive he will win
his 1000pts is i belive
ethernal with a honour blade
the battle suite commander
6 stealth marines
24 fire warriors
1 devil fish
6 gundrones
2 hammerheads and i think he is going to use ion cannons against me
and a broadside with 2 sheild drones on it
any suggestions of what i should do besides get into hand to hand very fast?

i play tau so im gonna try and help.
He has lots of elite troops but try not to get too caught up on them because for example a plasma rifle will instantly kill any race but, for eldar or dark eldar those pulse rifles will get 2+ to wound with no save, so dont under estimate them, pretty much forget about shooting the stealthsuits, your going to need to hit them in an assault and maybe get a few shots off before that, those ion cannons will be dangerous, but if you can move up using cover or behind your tanks then you should be allright but basically i feel its a matter of tying up as many guns as possible at once, get to his lines and charge the fire warriors, he wont be too concerned so wont fall back heaps and will have up to 24 shots that would wound on a 2+ and allow no save gone from his firing, if you get both squads thats 48 shots and the battlesuit will only be getting a max of 5, another thing to consider is the weakness of the ethereal, try and keep him on his toes, deepstricking near him but behind cover and that sort of thing, because he is so vital to the army and even with an honour blade will barely touch you. so basically you want to get into CC with the stealthsuits and fire warriors as soon as possible and then sweep through to the other units.
And dont forget when your in close combat you cant be shot

so anyways, why would someone pick an ion cannon over a railgun for the hammerhead?
everyone i know who talked about it said that the railgun is the better weapon, what with the secondary fire mode and superior range.
what upside does the ion cannon have?

the ion cannon is ten points cheaper and it depends to some extent on what your versing, if your playing marines that have no tanks, then ion cannon will wound on a 2+ and allow no save with three shots per turn and the railguns non ordanance would get only 1 shot and have same stats and its ordanance would have 2+ to wound on maybe, 5 hits but the space marines would still get thier save so in some situations the ion cannon is better.
