Space Marine Codex

I heard some rumors of a new space marine codex in the works at GW back on the EoT forums, but i haven't heard anything about it sense. is this true? or are these rumors just rumors. with the new tech marine and scout models on the GW site it seems like this could be true.

Probably, at some point. But first off are SM, Orks, 'nids, and Eldar, IIRC.

i doubt IG, Chaos, Tau, and Necrons will be givin any update for some time. all of these armies have had their codexes released recently, and sense the new rules are compatible with all existing codexes, updates on these wouldnt be neccessary. many of the other armies are in great need of an update though.

No, GW has explicitly stated many times that the new edition isn't going to obsolete current models. Just rules are going to change, models will stay the same, and army lists won't change too drastically. Your current models will be 100% compatible with the new edition (and new codexes). They will be adding some new modules in addition to the existing ones, those new Techmarines and Termies are a taste of what's to come, I think.

O O Okay I get it now so do you think (or know) if the 'Nids are going to have any new units I havent seen any on the web site????????

best thing about the whole change is that black templars are finally getting a codex, and like the other codex chapters this probibally means black templar specific minis other than the ec.

When they say the models won't change I'd have some salt with that. When they ended 2nd Ed a lot of models became obsolete (although the rules changed more so less stuff will change).

as far as i know they aint changing any models and the SM codex will be comming out in Q1 2005

they say that models will be 100% compatible but that doesnt mean they wont release a whole new wave of them that just sort of refines it a bit. for example, most 2nd ed nids didnt become obsolete but they were refined and the old nids were looked down on

SM and 'Nids codexes are going to be the first new ones to come out I imagine since their whats in the starter box for the new edition. I'm looking forward primarily to the new models, especiall any new Demonhunters models.
