I was playing against my brother. He had SM, I had Eldar. I have a squad of 6 Wraithguard with 1 Warlock. He killed the Warlock, so I had to roll for Wraithsight next turn. He then assaulted the remaining 6 Wraithguard. I took 1 casualty, but passed my leadership test. On my turn, I rolled for Wraithsight. I got a 1, so my guys could do nothing. At the end, we had to do the CC. Can my guys not do any CC on my turn because I failed the Wraithsight test? And, can they act in CC on my brother's turn?

well does the codex say cant do anything till your next turn?
I assume you wouldnt be able to fight in close combat unless the codex says you cant do anything but if engaged in cc you can still fight?

Hmmm... it doesn't say. It only says "do nothing that turn". I would assume that this only meant movement, shooting, and assaulting - but anything with a mind will fight back, even with bad odds. Therefore I would say "They may not move, shoot, or charge this turn, but if already engaged in close combat will fight as normal."

If your opponents cannot agree to this;

1. They're unfair and take the letter of the law rather than the gaming spirit.
2. Say "Since it's not specifically mentioned, let's do Hand of Fate". Hand of Fate, as you know, is letting a dice determine the outcome. 4+ you're right, 3- he's right, and that's the way you play for the game.
3. If he doesn't agree to Hand of Fate, yet can not prove that you don't fight in close combat, then don't play him. If he can prove that you don't, then not even Hand of Fate should be used and follow the truth.

It only says "do nothing that turn".

i'd say it's clear. if you roll a 1, then you can't CC that turn, nor move, shoot, whatever. however, in the next turn (your brothers), you can fight. if you awaited your next turn, you'd be waiting more than one turn.

right?
