If I recall correctly at last years gamesday at the 40k panel there was release time line that had new Tau as well as new C'Tan I was wondering if anyone knew what happened to the supposed new C'Tan as I have been out of the loop for some time and have started a Necrn army and would be interested if a new C'Tan was in the works as I do intend to get one but niether of the existing two really grab me.

i think you migth be refering to the 2 missing ctan. i myself know little about but people who have read the right fluff tell me there is one called the dragon who is the most powerful ctan on mars itself, the techpriests for some reason are pumping it full of power. stories that refer to this are 1 about abbaddon talking to some deamon about it. and another about necron craft landing on mars itself for whatever reason is unknow. as for the other ctan i dont know. but so far thats all ive heard, but apart from the nightbringer and the deciever there is no other confirmed ctan with rules. or so i hear.

there aren't any "new" c'tan per se coming out afaik. i've heard many rumours(lots of them direct from GW employees, although GW has a tendency to be sorta lazy about keepin' up to schedule w/ this stuff, so maybe not for a while...) about the dragon c'tan waking up on mars though...

I too have heard about another C'Tan that is going to be released.

I think it was the C'Tan on Mars. Perhaps the C'Tan will be released when GW publishes a new Necron Codex.

The Imperium would be in troulble if a C'tan awoke right next to Terra :D . I'd love to see their reaction! :argh:

it might be a good "leader" to have cypher slip in to the emperors throne room, what with the whole war-related chaos going on and do whatever he wanted to do.

For the C'tan I have some further speculations. These are my own words which I originally posted on EO.

"Most of this is speculation but there are a couple of new points I've found.

Most of the rumours have seemed to confirm that it will be a 'cron campaign but it centres around Mars.

I think that the campaign will centre on two or three places.

1. Armageddon. In WD 277 it mentions a fluffically important 'cron prescence on Armageddon. Also many forces are there to lend scope for aliens to battle there.

2. Mars. We've been over this 'nuff times.

3. Medusa. I suspect that Ferrus Magnus fought (and apparently killed) a C'tan in the guise of a 'great silver wyrm' in a land of ancient technology on Medusa which indicates a potential for Necrons to go to war there. also it is near the EOT so Chaos gets a look-in on the action. "

It is the Outsider. The C'Tan who the Laughing God drove insane and must have finished rampaging a circuit of the universe. Now he's back in known space, probably causing massive havoc with whatever Necrontyr he has left. And he is insane, after all.

Another gift from our beloved Eldar. Way to go, Laughing God!

The Outsider has been speculated on as the originator of the Tyranids so they could be a 'cron substitute (partiularly since some of the models look a little alike).
The Dragon is generally agreed to be the focus of the next campaign though.

HA HA! :D I forgot about him. It should be him or the one on Mars.

i think the campain mostly will be about the coming of the civil war on mars whitch i my mind will be inevitable once Dragon comes back from his sleep.
the civil war i think will mostly center about who to follow there is the empiere white witch there loyalti lies, but then there are also there god white witch they have worship all there lives.
the troppers the campain offers well i think firstly the necrons they will offcurse be there to proteckt there god and do his bidding, then there are the adeptus mechanicus i think they will mostly be offerd as surport for the two grups but i think the ones following dragon will look a littel more like necrons then the others will.
now i mentiont a second grup this will whit out a doubt be....The empiere offcurse on Mars most off the empiers weapons are made if the empiere losses Mars to the Dragon well letīs just say that they whould be pretty fucked if that happens so naturly they will do all that is in there power to stop that from happening.

this is what i am sure about the next well not to sure.
the Deciver i know you may think why wouldt he be on Mars every off the Cītans alive hate his guts fore what he did an letīs face it whit foes like the nightbringer who is powerfuld enough as it is alredey well letīs just say i personly woundnīt want eney more off his kind casing me around the univers no sir not me.
so he might try and stop dragon from weakin up.
then ther are the Elders now you may think that they wouldt be the last to set as muts as a foot on mars but then agine think about it if the cītans get the adetus mechanicus on there side who says that besides that the necrons goes super strong
who says that the adeptus mechanicus that follow the dragon wont finde a way to shout down the Warp and if that happens well first there be no more chaos good yes but also bad caus no warp means that te eldar canīt talk to there ancestores(thats bad) alså most off there ships will be hit by that and not to forget most phykers will lose there abilities and be useless.

well that is what i think and sorry about my englich i am no godt at writhing

I think that isn't right. I'm pretty sure Cypher is looking to slip into Lion 'El Johnson's resting place with that sword that belongs to 'im, not the Emperor. Also... I really gotta say... A campaign based on the C'tan rising would only really be interesting to the Necron players (There is no Necron codex revision coming about, by the way, far as I know--I think only Eldar and SM are getting 'em 'cuz they still have the thin booklets). There is a lot of unfinished business from the Eye of Terror, and seriously--having the Necrons suddenly pop up in Terra would sound okay--but think of all the races you're literally leaving out. The Tau are WAY the hell out there and wouldn't have a chance at what's going on.--and the C'tan doesn't include much of Chaos, or 'Nids, barely even Orks for that matter (yeah, they'd bash stuff, but still...) It MIGHT conceivably include the Eldar, but close to Terra would make that difficult, as the Imperium woudln't want to let ANYTHING through, much less a bunch of aliens. Necrons are part of the villians--they're not the main ones.

Besides, I'm in the so-sick-of-Necrons-I-could-scream boat, so personally I'd be bugged--and I know a fair share of people who feel the same, so... there is that to consider.

I would hope that if there was such a campaign it would be a double-whammy, ie they'd have the necron thing and also have another part of it to help include chaos, tau, orks, dark eldar etc. because otherwise it would be a bit dull. Effectively everyone but necrons would be on the same "side" (i use the word very loosely) because the Imperium, Eldar, Chaos and Tau all have a vested interest in stopping the C'tan, and then i guess the orks, DE and tyranids would just be raiding as per usual. Unless the outsider IS the hive mind, in which case nids would be on the side of necrons.... :omg:

Of course the whole thing may have been changed or be a giant red herring.
