View Full Version : Salvaging Cloaked Fighters

I was recently playing online when I was attacked by cloaked fighters, having some gravwells already I caught the ships and reserched and built proximity detectors. I then sent my salvages to go and salvage them, but for some reason even though I had them caught in a grav well, they always managed to move out of reach just as my Salvage vette was about to lock on. I wondered if anyone else had had this trouble or if I was just unlucky?

Let them kami untill they are really close to the target, then z-click on it. Kami increases the speed, so they can catch up to the missile vets.

yes, and the missile vettes r very good for later misions becaus there z function launches a volley of missiles that can travel a long ways (send a scout as a spotter and use the vettes like artillary)

Yes, interesting, but I had a grav well on, so those fighters should not have been moving anywhere, so why do they?

The fighters wills slowly move out of the grav field. So even in a gravwell they will move, just at Mothership speads...
And to put it simply the only way u can salvage fighters is through a fluke.

No, that is not the only way. If you have a fast salvage corvette or slow/stationary fighters (sphere guarding a capship) it is very easy to salvage the fighters... just not worth it.
