Data Sync Error - Game Data Does Not Match

First post here, disappointed it has to be a bug report after the months I have had to wait for this game. :smash:

Gamespy lobby etc works, but any game I try and join (except sp skirmishes etc) fails with the above error... just as i get into the game.

What's wrong?

This is *the* issue that the 1.01 patch will address. The wrong data set was sent to mastering for German, French, Italian and Spanish, and while those 4 locales will operate fine with each other -- they do not currently work with English builds. The Patch for English is out which bumps the game version to 1.01. So as English players patch up you will not be able to see their games.

The patches for French, German, Italian and Spanish to fix the data sync problems are in progress right now and will be released ASAP.

I never had this problem, during beta or release. Then, after this new patch, it happens with my patched friends. They are British also, we are all using the English version. They can play fine, but when I play I get the above error after the game starts. I have reinstalled and repatched. Game shows DoW 1.01 on the start screen, top left.

Ok, I have an english version and was playing with english friends and we had all patched this evening so it wasn't the locale problems (i had also failed about 6 automatches so was pretty sure it was happening for ANY game)...

I have fixed the problem now. I reinstalled the whole game from scratch with multiple restarts just to make sure (windoze being windoze). I think the problem may have been that although I removed the demo, their may have been some files or reg settings left over, and I didn't restart before installing the game first time around.

Just to make sure I also installed to a brand new directory /games/DoW/ instead of /games/Dawn of War/

All is go now, and getting my arse handed to me on a plate by the beta players... got some catching up to do... good luck to anyone else having problems, perservere it is *really* worth it.

Will it be possible to watch english replays with a non-english version ?
