As per Totmacher’s request via a pm**, I am reposting the information I gathered for him regarding my system and what I found to work consistently.

Out of the box I myself had no problems with the English version of DoW, I did however have at least one friend who had been dropping off during direct connect game play. I, being the host, wanted to make sure all my bases were covered in an effort to keep him on hook with my Direct Connect session. What I found was the following:

Updating my 4 in 1 drivers for my NForce 2 mobo, (full specs listed below), to nForce _5.10_WinXP2K_WHQL_english.exe actually caused my system to crash to the desktop during a hosted session. Previousely I had been running on nForce_4.27_WinXP2K_WHQL_international.exe, but decided since it is always a good idea to be on the latest official drivers for your hardware, I would run an update.

Finding this to be the only variable on my side I reinstalled my older nForce 4.27 drivers. Since then I have had no issues outside of the NAT issue. (Which I know the Dev team can easily remedy)

The following information is as detailed list of my system specs. If further details are required by the Dev team, please let me know.

** Awesome -- thank you very much, I'm glad you were able to successfully remedy the problem, and I hope you can finally enjoy the game the way it's intended .

If you don't mind, could you post a separate thread with the following:

1) Your configuration as per above
2) The previous version you had
3) The crash issues you had
4) The fact that downgrading your MB drivers to the above version fixed this

Send me the thread link and I'll make sure one of the Admin's makes it a sticky.

Thanks!

Updated Hardware Note: I have since upgraded to an ATI 9800 Pro 256 MB Video card and have not experienced any stability issues. I am running the latest drivers for this card and have my in game settings maxed out. My primary video settings are set to balanced.

Excellent... I'm not going to sticky this though, I'm going to move it into the MTL. Getting too many stickies!
