yeah, probably been reported more than once before, but my fellows are shooting through mountains and stuff likewise. Plz just fix this, makes the game look like it was done by a bunch of unproffesionals.... Cheers!

Can't be done apparently... to much of a CPU hit :-(

so when they are shooting through things, are they following the rules, and the visuals look poor, or they shouldn't be allowed to shoot through those things?

They're following the program yes.
Apparently the hit detection on things like mountains or buildings or low walls for their bolters just was to much for the game to handle :-(
Same with me (dont mind) but some times annoying.
when eldar build on roof tops of this building and place turrets + other buildings on it...then orks/space marines/chaos or other eldar come aloge and shot at my buidings by shooting thro the building im on. (a good tactic buildig on the roofs...if the buildings have any that is) :bandit:

Can't take that much CPU effort just to let some terrain work more like tanks, so the shots just stops there with a nice bounce animation. (ok, for me that the units shoots agains the mountain but not that the projectiles go through it)
Imagine several squads of Shootas fully reinforced attempting to fire through a mountain. That's a lot of bullets. Now load up those squads with Big Shootas... even more bullets. Then on the other side you have, say, multiple tactical Marine squads with Heavy Bolters.
Now make your CPU run the hit-detection of all those bullets on the wall while still doing everything else it has to do to make the game run. Nevermind adding bounce animations in, that would ruin the GPU.

the biggest problem with this game is that it tries to do too much, its so ambitous that it manages to choke itself. I mean u have awesomly rendered units, wonderful effects, beautiful light effects and such. No configuration on the market today can run a 3v3 or 4v4 player game when there are 40 squads vs 40 squads. (400units on screen rushing 1 player who has 100 units.) The game slows down to a slide show and is completely unplayable on every pc out there today...i musty agree with the sceptics spend too much on shiny graphics and gameplay goes down the drain...too bad
