Hi guys, quick error.

i have a 9800pro which i have softmodded to an XT, DoW plays great on it except until when i hit mission 8 for the first time. A lot of units and level were visible at the time, and then the game started removing things off the screen.

The warnings.log posted an error to do with no video memory (i will post the log later, i am at work atm). I dont think it is anything to do with the OC because when i exit to windows, the desktop is fine and i have complete control.

anyone else had trouble to do with no video memory?

my system is 2.4C ghz, 1024mb ram, p4p800

full post to follow. this is just a preliminary enquiry

Warnings.log for sure will help identify it.

Make sure you've not lowered your AGP Aperture to 16MB or something silly like that.

Most likey does have to do with your overclocking, because I'm running a GF2 64MB and I've never gotten that problem, ever. Normally if a video card runs out of memory the application hogging the resources is terminated, or altered in some way, generally the computer is fine after that, so it's normal for you to have full functionality at desktop.

I do get texture errors occassionally, where all the visible textures are scrambled, and I know that is because of my crappy card I get it in all games I can't run very well, but, nothing a quick alt-tab won't fix. I suggest you run that level at very low in-game settings, then run a an 8 player match in skirmish also at low settings, join the fray and if it still occurs in both those scenarios, I suggest you revise your overclocked settings.

However if it only occurs on mission 8, then it could be a game bug.

More likely it's his AGP Aperture size Esoteric... happens quite frequently also with people who lock their Windows Swap file to something really low as well. His warnings.log will more clearly identify the problem though.
