I can't solve my router problem so far.. I opened the following ports:
6112
6667
28900
26857
29920
6500
27900
27901
29910

and my firewall is down.. I am using a digitus router... hell don't buy that again.. so can anyone help me, it seems open the ports and shuting down the wall won't do the trick :werd:

My problem is, when I open up a game, noone is able to join.

Your router may not be one of the ones tested to work with gamespy's nat negotiation.

Do you have a DMZ option for your router?

Yes I do, but actually this one is automatically set to off, when I turn of the firewall....

So I`m not the only one :/. I can join most servers but I can´t create my own one. Players are able to see the server but simply can´t connect. I already forwarded all necessary ports as discribed in the readme file.
I`m using a fli4l router, thats a linux based routersystem running on an old Pentium 75´s floppy drive.

Usually it works perfectly and it offers a lot more than a standard router :/

Have you tried going from modem to your computer to see if it would allow you to host?

You know remove the router for a while just to rule it out.

Well then I guess your router doesn't handle NAT for DoW very well then. Nothing you can really do about it besides getting something like a Dlink. I have one, allows me to host all the games I need.

Go to this website, and click on all ports. It will show you which ports are actually open, stealthed, or closed.

In your router setup screen make sure when you forward a port it's for your machines internal IP address (in case you have more comps connected).
