Can not sign on to gamespy

My Gamespy Account name is {FP}ScottKMFDM, I can ony enter in {FP}ScottKMFD in the field. The name field is too short on the online multiplayer screen.

Were you able to register that nickname with Gamespy within Dawn of War?

Sorry to jump in but I am having gamespy problems as well. Everytime I try and create a gamespy account within DOW, it freezes up on me and sits until I get mad and turn the sucker off. Any advice on why it locks up there? The search Forums option has been disabled so here I am. Do I need to update to the new patch maybe? Is there a way to do it without going into gamespy?

Gamespy Nicknames do not work with Dawn of War, you should create a new one in game.

I try. I start the game and click on multiplayer > internet then it asks me for my account or if I need to register one. I click on register then enter my info and it just locks right up. It will sit there all day if I let it. I can't alt + tab out, I can't alt + ctrl + del I can't do anything except turn the power off.

Make sure DoW has permission to access the internet and to accept connections in your firewall. This sounds exactly like the firewall blocking the connection with a pop up window which you can't see because DoW is drawing over the top...

I have an account with Gamespy already (with said sign on) so I was trying to use it for Dawn of War. It is too long for the entry field in Dawn of War. Also Gamespy will not let me lose my clan designation to shorten my sign on. It says its in use already. Which made me think," Yeah, by ME!"

Now it is telling me I can't create a unique ID. God, Gamespy sucks. I am trying to use my Email account to create a new account. So, it tells me that the Email adress/ password combo is incorrect. So, I use my real gamespy password, better, but now it will not accept a new name, and my real sign on doesn't fit in the field!!!!!

Dawn of War's nickname space is seperate from the normal gamespy login ID. Just create a new one and you should be fine. You can however, use gamespy's password retrieval system to get your password on your created account sent.
