Not commenting on the rules yet, but the way the rulebook looks. It looks "cleaner" and more efficient in comparison to the older one. For instance, the custodes image and the eternity gate thing have had the sides darkened and such to focus on a specific part. They added some art for the Adeptus Terra and the Adeptus Mechanicus, plus more tidbits there. They dropped all the weird looking faces of strange people and replaced it with newer art. The images of the weapons have been replaced with pencil-drawn ones, and they added more images of the weapons for each type.

What I want to know is what is with all the little cherub-esque things? For a interval of pages you get a bunch of the little dudes on all the pages. Overall, I think it's sleeker then the older codex. A lot of the examples are redone and stuff, though they've dropped the army lists for all the races at the end of the book. They include a little summary on all the races; forcing you to buy a Codex; which you should have done already. :P

They also dropped the list of weapons completely. No more list of weapons belonging to all the sides, unless I've failed to find it.

yeah they dropped the weapons list. i was actually disapointed with some parts of the rule, mainly its presentation.

some of the art work is very old and truely dreadful.
many of the armies in the book have the most horrible paint jobs, now i know they are trying to encourage people to paint, but i reckon in the rulebook the armies should be magnificent in ever way.
the organisation of the book is slightly annoying, the missions and missions rules are really spread out making it hard to find them, i thought there was 9 missions but infact there is around 15, its just they are all over the book.
i would have liked a weapons list personally.

but that said there are some new nice bits, a lot of the art work is fantastic, i love the bit on each army and the first few pages are quite cool. i like the new rules and i like most of the orgnaisation of the book.

The presentation is cleaner (none of that weird distorted grinning face stuff), some rules are scattered about more, they dropped army and weapons lists, added sections about each race and the Dark Millenium section. That about summarize the rulebook? You still have to buy it though. Hehe.

I love all the extra fluff as well. Also, the rules are now less ambiguous than before and there are less loopholes. That said there are still bound to be some....*heads off to search for loopholes*
