trail color question

ok i know how to change the default color of a race but how do u make it so that the trail colors stay a certain color?(i.e. black ships and blue trails)i know it has to do with editing the shp and the teancolors.script file but i can't seem to get it to work:(

somewhere in the .big there's a file called trail.script. It's all in there...just remember, the colors are in the 3 number format (i.e., 255, 176, 38<--just a random number). Also, theres a whole lotta settings that hafta be messed with for the trail fading et cetera.
Never tried it, never wanted to do it...but when i was trying to get my ships to have ablack base color i ran across that. Don't know if it works.

Tech would probalby be the expert. I remember a screenshot of his distinctly showing several strike craft each type with a different color.

Maybe it's the thing about strikecraft trails in the strikecraft .shp files? Just a guess by my part.

i found if u edit the shp file and if u edit the Trail.script to the same settings then the trail turns out pink, but i want blue or green, but if u change them and they are different they turn out transparent, maybe that will help someone figure it out, i havent tried in a while, but would still like to figure this out.
