Hey people this is actually my third thread with close to the same title but about the same topic. I needed a catchier title lol. Oh well list what u think is unfair or too great an advantage and i will tell u how to counteract it or ill disprove it. sry to all those who have been now in al three o my threads lol. thanx people and always rem to stop all the :blah: :blah: :blah: -ing(its been in all three of mine kinda an inside joke)

Also if every race has an unfiar advantage wouldnt that make it fair??

Also with a minor priced upgrade they can excel at close combat over Space Marines.

And yes ... Chaos Marines have horns, regular Space Marines do not, repeat, do not have horns.

Here's my take on this whole 'Unit A vs Unit B' thing going on here:

While you can certainly do that, I think the only sane way to appreciate each trooper is within the setup of their army. Chaos Marine's may cost the same in Req., and come out slightly worse on the stats side, but how they fit exactly into the Chaos puzzle makes them worth that much.

Space Marines have got to live with and rely on their basic grunts for a quite a large amount of the game, so having them a smidgen cheaper or more effective is certainly not a crime to the game balance gods. The skills required for forming an effective Marine player revolve around re-purposing the same set of troops for many different situations. Chaos tends to have more specialized troops, so giving them the ability to pick and choose at the build stage, rather than the tactical stage, is balanced out by the purchase price.

It just seems rather inane to compare any individual unit, as the game is not about selecting a single unit each and fighting it out to the death. Overall, apart from a few acknowledged bugs, this game seems to be remarkably well balanced between the four factions.

ok people there is no need to get hostile...yes i love this game and i dont think that u can say i dont know much when u havent even seen much of my writing. Why criticize and and assume what u do not know. why not compliment the subject and stick to it. Also my work??? uh its a thread man no work here just thoughts. Oh yes and Spaztwitch ..very thoughtful. You make a very good point that i have not realized. The ability for the chaos to have different units (plus the dreaded posessed) early on while the marines must stick to the scouts and normal marines for a while till they get built up. I very much appreciate that point and it is very true.

loneknight i am not a noob just because i have been on this forum for about 1 day doesnt mean anything...i play the game all the time but just recently decided to join the forum universe. and also the races being equal was my whole point from the beginning!!! look at the name of the thread i made it. i just commented that what he said was avery good thought and yes i realized it more now. dont judge someone ever..that could be ur downfall one day!! oh yes and duh there are more qualified people than me but always remember there are many more qualified people than u too.

I fail to see the point of this thread really... no offence at all, I just don't see why you would want to actually stur up bitching people and make a post about what is good and what is not :P

That is what the strategy forum is for, developing the different advantages of each of the races, and they are MANY.

If you want to learn how to play, or know what the races can do, roam the strategy forum as it in the end would give you ALOT more than this silly thread.

You keep saying "your work" and how you "made the name of the thread", but seriously... you haven't done ANY work, other than posting what does people think? Not even expressing your own thoughts around something.

I agree though, don't judge on post counts, for all we know, theloneknight, you could be a spammer... and he could have had an account before this with 1000 posts... Although, failing to know that the chaos spacemarines will number 11 units where spacemarines only have 9 (incl. leaders) is a pretty good statement of what you know of the game Brad...

All in all, this thread is useless IMHO

in what other way am i to take it....i didnt know what they were talkin about i know but only because of the way they said it...yes duh the different aquads and theyre numbers wow u memorized it go you....but even though i know it in my head just stating some reandom number like thay did will not tel me what they are talkin about...no i havent had an account in here before but i have played the game for a long time. knowledge comes from the defeat of ur foes whiich that i have beneath my belt. i almost never play as the chaos or orks though so no i dont know much about em. ui know some but not tons. also i dont say my work i said my thoughts...and saying that i made the name to the thread doesnt say anything but thats what i want the subject to stick to...WHY DO I HAVE TO KEEP DEFENDING MYSELF AGAINST EVERYONE!!!!!!! all i want in this thread are what people think is unfair and ways to change it...stop going on about me and start thinkin about the subject i mean come on people thats what this is all about!!!

You know, these four races aren't THAT unique you know... In fact, every unit has a unit of the opposite faction that does the exact same thing, although with a different animation. Unique races is terran compared to the zerg and protoss.

When you haven't even played the other races that much ? Is this based on Spacemarine Tactics ?? If it is, that is where you should center your post, not on all races as a one. Each race's counter to units are different from eachother...

Again, I urge you to take this kind of post to Strategy forum, as that is deffinatly where this belongs.

I'm sorry, Brad, I just don't like people who are too lazy to spell or punctuate anything they type. It screams "IDIOT!" to me every time I see it. So perhaps I was a bit harsh. But even then, I don't think that you are qualified to answer questions on the races when you have already admitted you haven't played half of them very often. As for defending yourself, though, perhaps you should look at the title, and your posts.

You seem to assume yourself informed enough to answer any and all questions posed about imbalance in the game, when in actuality, the only people qualified to answer that are the designers of the game itself. You've all ranted about -my- assuming things, but haven't you noticed that he's assumed himself good enough a player to explain things to even average players?

Okay, I just went through these damn two pages editing double posts, and then I read all of this. Look Brad, you are a nice guy so far, and I am definitely not trying to alienate or punish you for being a new guy, but seriously, stop making this thread. And if you absolutely have to, than do it in the Strategy Forum, and more specifically the Space Marine one, since that is all you play. I'm not going to judge your posting skills, nor your skills in the game and your qualifications to answer questions and provide strategies.

However, you have seen the kind of reaction that can come from a thread like this, so be careful how you word things to the public, they might think you are full of hot air or arrogant. If people start criticising your credibility and derail your thread, then inform a mod rather than add more fuel to a flamefest.

As for you others, I'm dissapointed how you let the subject stray so far and attacked his validity in posting this thread. The only thing he did wrong was post in the wrong forum. If you disagree with a thread entirely and not just the posters opinion, than ignore it and let it die, or inform a mod if it really offends you somehow.

Anyway, enough of my rants. I suggest you all cut Brad a little slack, and Brad, take a day or two before posting a thread like this again, and go read the damn rules about double posting, hehe...:D
