I haven't been able to find the answer to this issue:

When I play a LAN game with my friend and I HOST the game, he will be dropped at randoms points in the game. We have played for 50 minutes and we have played for 10 before he get's dropped. It begins with the "Waiting for Player" screen and then counts down. At the end of the countdown, he is dropped.

I want to know why? We are playing on a 100mbps network, his computer more than meets the requirements for WH40,000 DoW and frankly, I can't figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Tane

My wife and I have played a few games, and I first saw this issue the other day. A strange dropout mid game, with no warning.

Some things to check, make sure both of you are on DirectX 9.0c, as apparently that's caused some issues.

What type of router/hub do you have?

We use a Linksys 5 port hub. Nothing special really. I suppose it could be the hub, but internet and file transfer work fine. I should also add that every other game works fine over the LAN... just DoW that is crapping out.

Thanks for the help and BTW, I live in Victoria, BC. Just across the water!

Yah know... it might not even be linksys. And if it is, then it's an old model. I'm at the office right now so I can't check. But it doesn't look like anything on their site. It's just a small navy blue box.

Hmmm... I'll have to wait till I get home. But it's not a router, only a hub.
