Hi! Only been on the forums a few days, been mainly reading it all, but I noticed a lot of people are asking for places to host pics. Well on my server I have unlimited webspace and bandwidth, so decided to put it to some use!

If you want to upload ANYTHING DoW related (screenshots, videos, banners etc) then just do this..

Go to ftp://ftp.wadgem.co.uk in IE and in the username and password box..

Username: dow@wadgem.co.uk
Password: forum

Once in this folder, just drag and drop the file into it to upload them! :bandit:

Your file will then be at http://www.wadgem.co.uk/dow/yourfilehere.jpg/gif/bmp/avi/etc !

To browse all the files in the folder, go to
http://www.wadgem.co.uk/dow :beer:

***UPDATE***

A few people have been having a problem accessing the ftp, getting a few random errors. The fix for this 90% of the time is to go to File, Login As... then re-enter the username and password, and it should now let you in. :)

Just a few basic rules...
Don't rename, delete, or edit anyone elses uploaded files! Remember, I'm doing this outta good will, abuse it and I'll have no option but to stop it. :smash:

So bookmark it and use it as much as you want. :)

One question that makes me feel silly, where do I put custom made banners/badges? I've tried putting them in the banner/badges folder in the DoW folder, but it doesn't show in the army painter. :werd:

way cool. I have a video from a friend that I would like to host on my site, but couldn't because my bandwith is limited.

If it is o.k. with you I would like to upload it to your ftp site, and link to it from my site.

In response to your question though... if you don't see the badges and banner in game, after you dragged and dropped them to their designated folders, then something must have been done wrong while converting them to their needed formats. If you want to send them to me, I can take a look at them and see what might have been done wrong, and fix them for you. Email them to me if you like.

Sharpy, yep that's fine, you can do that if you wish. :) The needed format is .tga right? And I'm supposed to just put them in the C:\Program Files\THQ\Dawn of War\Banners folder, correct? As that's what I'm doing, and it's not showing up in-game. :(

The file sizes should also be:

for badges 64x64
for banners 64x96

The file type is .tga.

I've also noticed in making my badge and banners, sometimes I will have to remake the file because on the first try they won't show up. I use Paintshop Pro, I don't know if its like that with other utilities.

Try remaking the file, make sure that the sizes are correct... any additional info if you didn't know already, you can find it here-How to make banners and badges (http://forums.relicnews.com/showthread.php?t=29879) .

Or you can send the files to me and I can see what might not be right, and I can send the details back to you so it will help you out in future attempts.

Hmm... The video seems created from the gif-anims. It would be of much better quality if it was captured from the game directly, than from gif anims :)

Those are my GIF anims, and I think Doeden did a very good job of linking them together like that! :D

The movie could have been much better quality (Albeit much bigger filesize) if I had sent him the AVIs to play with. Nice work nonetheless Doeden, glad I got my name in the credits.

This is very nice and this topic should get stickied imo, but I have one question. How can you have unlimited space and bandwidth? I guess you're admin in a company or something, but if it's a rented server I'd like to know where you can find more info.

Actually, I'm very lucky. I'm not in some big company or anything, infact I'm only 16. But my host messed up the servers BADLY at first, and I was one of his best customers and didn't want to lose me (lol) so he gave me unlimited bandwidth, space, ftp accounts, emails, etc. :)

Hey guys, just to answer about why the quality isnt so great. The movie wasnt supposed to be great quality. The movie was supposed to be a collection of some great .gifs and pictures by people posting on this forum topic.

However the video im currently working on will be much better quality and longer. Hopefully I will have a preview out for it soon, and maybe Sharpy can help me out with that again :)

I've not really though about making a replay site, as I intended to make it so it was pretty easy and quick to manage and stuff, interesting idea though. :)
