 Usual Problems with game settings..evrething slows down.
Im using an Asrock K7s8x board with a AMD Sempron 2800+ with 512 DDr. 128mb ATI Radeon 9200se graphics card. Great game but my gear should eat it with all the details set to high.......but it doesnt. I have set the game to 800x600 all things set to medium and Shadows turned off. The game runs ok. But shouldnt Relic have sorted all of this before going gold. Now we have to wait for the usual patch.

Make sure your drivers are up to date. Also, I'm not sure if a 9200 can run the game with everything maxed, but I might be wrong there.

:smash: ATI and THQ say Radeon 9200 is fine. They sort of suggested that they have a large amount of problems being reported to them re this very issue........patch maybe.
Oh bye the way latest drivers up and running.

What are u running the game on ?? :D

Your card is fine for running the game, I'm just not sure if you can turn up everything to maximum.

I'll second what Moe's saying... the 9200se is a lightweight card... there's no way it would be able to run this game with all the graphics on high.

I'm using this image to show you how the 9200 series card fits in (simply graphics wise) in comparison to other cards that are out there. Keep in mind, that your 9200se is slower than the 9200 shown in that benchmark result. Now while DoW is not as graphically beautiful as doom 3 Can be, it's at least as high quality as Doom 3 at low quality (which is what that benchmark number indicates).

Broken pic there, Über, apparently THG doesn't like direct linking to their images. Got a link to the article or something?

I can confirm that the 9200 is not recommended for "high" settings.

1) What settings does the Graphics Configuration tool recommend?

2) How did the game run with those settings?

1) The graphics configuration tool recommends "medium" setting, but in high resolution
1024x768.
2) The game runs OK at this setting, but only with shadows turned off ??

I can see from all the posts on this subject that it is not only Radeon cards but a whole host of other cards have this problem. Cards that have a far higher spec than mine, have to turn off shadows. The point that I, and a lot of other people are making is that this should have been sorted before the software was placed onto the market.

By the way my card runs Doom 3 just fine. No problems what so ever

The 9200SE isn't the greatest of gfx cards (far from it), and the fact that it's not DX9 compliant would mean you aren't getting the most out of todays games.

Also I doubt that Doom 3 runs 'fine' but that's just me.

Shadows have always been hard hitting on system performance. It's not a bug, it's a fact of life. Perhaps Shadows should be set to default low/off so people wont complain so much about performance issues so much.

Maybe it runs doom3 No problems what so ever with every option turned off and at the lowest resolution. Hate to say it but doom3 is not the miracle game that is the yardstick for every other game.
