Was going to use other word in place of inferior but I hope the obvious is ... obvious.

Gayspy is down...again

You realise, of course, that comparing Gamespy to Bnet is... idiotic to say the least.

Bnet has had more time, more money, and very likely more people working on it over the years than Gamespy could ever hope to have. As such, rather than making a system that catered to EVERY Computer system, they've created one that works for -most- computer systems. You just usually have to change a few options.

And as for Gamespy going down.. Well, how can they help that? If an error occurs, or the system crashes, the server will go along with it.. Even Bnet crashes once and a while. ;p

You realise - of course I have made NO comparison to another system in my post.

And forgive me for saying this but gamespy's critical business aspect is to be up if they can not manage that well, maybe its time to upgrade those servers or hire new techs, or get into a different business.

You're sure it wasn't your connection Sps?

positive - infact I am happily downloading 600kbps right now - the only problems are with gamespy and fileplanet.

and before you ask trace route times out when it hits their domain and not anywhere in between. So yeah its them - and this is about the 5th time in a month the game has been up as well as a few times during beta - that = unaceptable level of performance/uptime for a commercial application.

Can you get on now? People on IRC are reporting no problems.

now - yes - at time of post - no - "the lobby system has disconnected"

My point tho, is within a month this about the 5th time gamespy has acted up - for a commercial application that is horrid.
