Answer me these questions three...

What make/model of router are you using?
Is its firmware up-to-date?
Are you running any kind of software firewall?

Ok, first of all double check and make sure youre running that router's most up-to-date firmware.

If possible, try to host with your comp directly into your cable/dsl modem. That would confirm/eliminate the router as the cause. And as far as the windows firewall...kill it. Don't just give it permissions, disable it and, if that doesn't work, kill its processes (I don't have the names at my disposal as im not running SP2 on this comp...I run lotsa legacy apps and SP2 causes MAJOR compatibility issues).

The SP2 firewall is so fundamentally retarded it belongs on the yellow-short-server :bandit:. Theres your prime suspect.

TFroggy: You should enable both packet types for all listed ports.

The XP firewall is integrated into the OS. There might be something else added in SP2, but to disabled the XP firewall, go to start, control panel, network connections, and then select the connection you use. It should have a little lock on it if its firewalled. Then click Properties, and look under the Advanced tab.

There is nothing wrong with the windows integrated firewall per se. It is decent. I'm not sure about anything included in SP2.

Try it after shutting down all your firewall software.

Basically, If you're troubleshooting something, you can start with a minimum of services on, then gradually turn them back on to find the culprit.

With ZoneAlarm enabled, players can't join my automatch game, but I can join theirs fine (works with ZoneAlarm off). Why is that? I've given it full access, never had any problem with any other game, and I can host custom games and people can connect and play. It's only automatch..
