Newb-Video card question

So I picked this up last weekend with full knowledge that my old school geforce2 wasnt gonna do it (all though it was actually surprisingly fine for Age of mythology and spellforce) have been playing a few skirmishes to get to know the controls and just dealing with the ugliness... but I am upgrading to a radeon 9700 this weekend. Should this card harness the game at its best? Recommended was the 8500 so I know it will be fine but I want to know if it will look its best with this card...

by the way... even after just playing a few skirmishes... this game friggin rocks.

This is the newcomer forum, meant for introductory posts only. Your question would be more at home in one of the Dawn of War forums or in technical discussions. I'm assuming by "this" you mean DoW and not HW2?
To answer your question, it depends a bit on your overall system layout. Generally, DoW is very hungry for texture memory, so the more you have, the better. A Radeon 9800Pro with 256MB would probably be able to run the game on high everything, assuming you have a fast CPU and maybe 768MB or more of RAM.
