Can't create an online account

Hi. i am unable to create an online account. When I enter my details and click on create/ok it says creating account with EA games lobby and then says username has already been used and gives me a list of alternative names that are so lame and with the alternate names, they are longer then what you are allowed to have for a nick. i think the max is 11 charactors but these names are like jarrodobrienleet.

and also none of my names i choose work.

this is what i have chosen and i am the only person online with the name nitro.vo that i have seen.

i even tried my name, jarrodobrien and it says that its already in use!?!!

this is annoying me so much. please help.

at least this one is not in french...
you probably cant use a '.' in your name, did you try one of the other suggestions?

no i couldnt try other suggestions becuase it would then say please re-enter your email and password, which i would do but the suggested names are longer then what your allowed to enter.

Try closing the game, opening it back up, and try creating one of the suggested ones.

ive tried numerous times over a few days. i am not behind a firewall, but i think i will make a smal name so thatway when i try a suggested name, it will fit.

another idea i had was can i make a gamespy account and use that? like sign up for gamespy arcade and use that account?

O.K i just tried it then, and it says my email was in use so i changed the email and i thought it was working, then it says cd authentication failed. what does that mean?

CD authentication failed means that your CD key is entered incorrectly. If you're comfortable editing the registry, then you can find it in HKLM\Software\THQ\Dawn of War

If not, re-install.

Or he is using a fake key - im pretty sure you can't even get the options to create an account if your key is fake *it is impossible to enter it incorrectly yet still have the game installed btw*

We've had that authentication failed error quite a few times now, apparently sometimes the game lets you install even with an incorrect key, but won't let you play online.

Smoke, what moe said, there are several instances of people actually installing the game with incorrect CD keys (apparently the 6 and the G look similar). It may be that the installer only checks the first few digits to see if it's a valid key or not, to avoid perhaps giving away how the keys are generated.

That is incorrect, as i just checked now, in the third and fourth block of text i change a ZERO to an "O" and vice versa and the game says "incorrect keys"

Was just a guess... regardless, people have been able to enter CD keys that are wrong, yet still get past the installation.
