Hi all,

I have seen from other posts that some people may be experienceing the same problems that i am at the moment. Which is that DoW i the only game i am running on my system at the moment which causes it to near overheat (i have never let it get this far and usually quit the game when i hear the fan sounding like a helicopter taking off) I'm pretty sure that it is this as problem gets worse depending on how many figures on screen and scope of battle (etc etc) My question is... is this supposed to be the case? has erlic said that this game WILL be seriously CPU intensive? or is this just a problem for some of us? i don't really want to have to look for a water cooler or whatever for my system just to play DoW in this case so.. is this problem likely to be fixed in a patch?

OK well here are my specs to everyone can tell me what i'm doin wrong.

pent 4 prescott 3.0ghz
1024Mb Kingston RAM (dual channel)
Leadtek 5900xt (61.77 nvidia drivers)

Running the game at 1280x1024 (5:4 is the work of the devil !!!) with all the settings on highest is going to push your system to it's limits, although should only be doing so when you are viewing full scale wars (and especially since you'll have shadows on).

Also, just because you fan sounds like it's going to take off doesn't mean that it's a bad thing .. the only thing you should be worried about is the heat from the CPU. It might sound silly, but you may want to clean the dust out your Heat Sink fan just incase theres a bit of dust in there causing issues (just get a hoover nozzle and suck away the dust - 5 minute job).

That shouldn't be happening, my system, even though AMD, is very similar to yours

AMD 3000+ 64 bit
1024mb DDR400 Dual Channel
5950 Ultra FX (not the latest drivers though)
120gig SATA HDD

Now, running the game 1600x1200, with all textures to the max and sounds to the max details, i get around 50-60fps, dropping to 30fps when 4 armies are duking it out. The fans in my system, such as those on the video card and CPU, will speed up if things get too hot. However, that only happens when i play BFV for 3-4 hours straight at the max settings in 1024-768. Strange, try using previous drivers on the video card.
