View Full Version : Vanishing Deep Strikers?

My friend was playing around the other day over at my place with Space Marines. We got to late game so he was spending a lot of time Deep striking troops. We began to notice that at times the troops would vanish and never come down while deep striking. This became very obvious when he deep striked a Force Commander into battle. He dropped the FC and a Dread about 6 inches in front of the enemy lines. The dread came down first and while the FC Deep strike marking was still on the ground one of the enemy troops stopped and stood on it...the FC never came down and the symbol just disappeared from the left corner. Sorry if this has been brought up before, but without a search feature I am entirely unwilling to manual search.

If you could spare the time, perhaps you can try recreating the event with a direct 1v1 against your friend. Deepstrike the FC again, and then when you see the spots indicating the deepstrike move your unit over it. If it occurs repeatedly then at least we know it's a confirmed bug.
What to do if it really IS a bug I leave it to more experienced bug-squashers.
If you could save a replay of that happening and post it here, that'd be great.

I don't like to play much of SM (much better at micro heavy eldar), but next time he's over We'll run it (Prob tomorrow). But I didn't mention this, but I'm 99.9% of it. Because (during same game) he deep striked 3 dreads and only 2 showed up. But we looked away for like 12sec or so while they deeped. We were like hey what the hell happened. But we actually saw it with the FC. We saw the points on the ground, we saw a unit cross onto them and after a few seconds the triangles disappeared and so did the FC icon. I'm going to try and recreate against comp. I may not have much luck but we'll see.
Attempted agianst a computer opponent and it would not occur...the deep strikers either landed at a different spot then indicated, or troops went around it like it was an invisible wall. I'll see if we can do it online tomorrow.

No No...He was playing another account on my comp (Trying to decide if it's worth purchasing, he decided yes lol) and I was watching him play and helping him learn. That why it was easy to spot, two people watching the screen tend to spot things like that really easy.
