i am sure this has been brought up b4, but i just was in a game which made me wanna break something. it wasnt adressed in the patch, so would liek to know if the designers indended the use of brighlance platforms thet way they r ruse. masing them as cheap, mobile brightlances. to face swarms upon swarms of them is just not right as i think. i play eldar, and like the changes, but this seems still to be a problem.

bringing it to a point, i just want to know, are bright lances intended for use as swarms of mobile gun platforms? if not, have there been any considerations to fix the problem? a simple fix to some thinglike can have as many grav platforms as u do gardian squads, to bring it into a similar fasion to the ttwg.

I think the patch introduced a setup time delay for brightlances.

The setup time delay was a good thing...but some thought needs to be put into giving the eldar an effective (much more so then BL) Weapon against vehicles I think. They really don't stand a chance as it stands agianst dreds and preds mid and late game. Maybe considerably up the price of plats, but make them much more powerful (and or limit number?) so that spamming is much harder, and make them considerably more powerful at taking down vehicles. As it stands right now bringing wave after wave of plats is the eldar's only defense agianst vehicles.

Eldar get Fire Prisms, Distort Cannons and Shrines of Khaine to fend off vehicles, so it isn't just Brightlance platforms (that said, I think the ubiquitous Brightlances appear on Shrines of Khaine as well as Wraithlord shoulder mounts). I should know as I watched a few Wartraks get absolutely mashed by just one of my patented "defence garrisons" - one Shrine of Khaine, two infantry turrets and two vehicle turrets.

That said, swarms of Brightlance platforms is both sick and horribly mechacidal. I think they need some kind of limit on them, say Limit 10?

Brightlance is fine. And 10 brightlance will not stop 6 defilers - setup time will prevent it as they get knocked about via artilery. Late game you see massing because it needs to counter massed vehicles. But massed bl also means no eldar vehicles so instead of spamming bolter+missiles - spam plasma+bolter. (plasma kills bl fast)

I just got out of a 4v4 where bl didn't win the game and I had 15, missiles did however.

My problem is that you do have to mass bl to stop any vehicles, cause that's all we got, and they aren't good enough to do it in reasonable numbers. Which means my end game anti sm is exactly the same no matter what, 1 maybe 2 Fire Prism, 2 Guard Squads (for entangle mostly) maxed of reapers, and a butt load of platforms....then if I do that i get screamed at for massing plats and how cheap that is lol. I think problems come whenever you have an army consisting so heavily of one type of unit. I'm getting sick of seeing 2 waves of units caps of PSM rape 75% of three players. I think that it mostly bothers me because it is one type of unit....
