voip cutting out

whenever me and my friend play dow we like to use a voip program, usually skype or msn. but since the new patch came out the program keeps lagging and cutting out so we can barely communicate. this wasnt a problem before the patch. and they work perfectly when not in dow.

Probably has something to do with DoW crowding out processor time from other apps. I haven't had it happen to me though.

Are either of you on dial-up? Are other online games that you two play fine with voip?


Or try this.
Next time you both are playing try this. Ctrl + Alt + Delete to get into the task manager. Then click on the process tab. Find the voip app that you are using on the list and right click on it. At Set priority, try it at a setting of "above normal" or "high".

It's most probably not a bandwidth issue, DoW generates only 300-500 bytes per second per player of traffic. CPU is a good guess, Skype in particular is kinda heavy on that.
