After the InstallShield Wizard starts I get a "1628:Failed to Complete Installation" error. I tried it on another machine and got past this error to the start installation screen. The InstallShield screens on my machine use green graphics while the other machine uses blue graphics leading me to believe they are two different versions. Both machines are running Windows XP Home Edition. I cannot find an update file for InstallShield for XP on the Microsoft site either. I recently installed Doom 3 with no problems. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the info Moe. I installed the upgrade to the InstallShield Wizard. Still no luck though. The file version number of the upgrade is 10.0.0.159. The file version number of the setup.exe file on the Warhammer disk is 10.1.0.238

I installed the game on my wife's computer and that went ok so I don't think it's a problem with the games installation file. I'd play it on hers but she doesn't have a video card as her video is an onboard chip on the motherboard making the game a slide show.

Like I said, this is the first game I've had any trouble installing. Ground Control II installed ok and it's setup.exe file version is the same as Warhammers 10.1.0.238. Doom 3 installed ok too but it's version number is 9.0.333.0

Anyway I'm stumped. If I can't resolve it in the next couple of days back to EB it goes.

Thanks again for the help.

I've also had a problem with installing the game, its been purring along nicely up until i reach a file W40kData-Speech-Sound.sga after this the game just sits on this file and refuses to move. i went in to check how much had installed in the directory and as i watched the file size kept fluctuating from between 4mg and 200mg is there some way to solve this, or some way i could not install the sound for the game and avoid the problem

Well, I finally got the installation problems on my computer fixed. Due to efforts over the last few months to eradicate spyware/malware I must have nuked some necessary files for the InstallShield program. Reinstalling Windows over my existing copy and trying to patch InstallShield did not work. Had to resort to reformatting my C: drive and reinstalling Win XP fresh. That corrected the InstallShield problem. I had since returned Warhammer and traded it for Fry Cry and Homeworld 2 both of which were on sale. Maybe by the time I finish them Warhammer will be on sale too!
