It really bugs me. I'm playing Day of Defeat or anything half-life, hit it accedentally and then i lose the sound in the game.

Where do i have to go and what do i have to do to disable that bastard key?

Pliers work quite well

Actually mine got jammed (which meant HELLO DESKTOP)whenever I hit d)

So I discovered this tasty solution quite quickly

I wonder if I could make the widenose key type "access" every time I accidentally press it during homeworld, so instead of being a task-switching nuisance it can be upgraded to a full-blown PANIC button.

Oh yeah, wire it to a big red button and have an alarm go of every time you push it.

I am actually dead serious. I pulled out my Windows Key with a hand-clamp/pliers. Skywalker's link seems to work as well (I actually tried it, it worked, but then I had a non-functioning empty key-slot as opposed to a functioning empty key-slot.

There's an option somewhere in Acessibility Options or something, and most shortcuts on the desktop have a Disable Windows Key option checkbox in their properties.

Hmmm....I just used a flat head screw driver to pull them off the keyboard then used superglue to jam the contact thingies thehn put the keys bak on... of course there is a permanent solution, Use winblows only for gaming and use Linux for eveything else :D that's what I do...

Work on your manual dexterity and avoid pressing the windows key during a game?

I had the same problem playing Renegade.
Its just easier to rid yourself of the key altogether.
1.Get a pocket knife,a butterknife,or a flathead screwdriver.
2.Insert the tool of choice verticly in the space between the middle f the bottom of the key and the keyboard edge.
3.slowly swing the tool down and back towards you until the little demon spawn key gives up the fight and goes flying accross the room.

This technique also leaves you with a fully funtional socket.
If you ever want th key back, just reinsert it.
