Well i just had my first automatch game of the day and i got matched vs my friend. Anyway after a longing skirmish he quits the game but wait, there is no victory thing. Instead i can keep playing and i did not accidently do the "continue" button as my men could still run around and such. I thought that if the annihalation trigger did not work then i should try the capture ones. I did but no countdown persued so i could just keep playing forever. I quit the game and i don't think either of us got any points deducted or lossed.
