Hello
I have a Geforece FX 5900 Ultra
mobo is an ASUS A7N8X Deluxe
1 gig of ram
nothing is overclocked.

I got HL2 like alot of people..
The game ran great, but CounterStrike Source was having a problem.
I decided to upgrade my drivers just in case.

the install went fine. HL2 still runs great.. but when I ran
DoW, once it reached the main menu the top 1/4 of the screen was distorted.
By distorted I mean that it looked like when you set the refresh rate too high on an old monitor.. how everything goes into diagonal lines before the monitor shuts off... thats how the top 1/4 of the screen looked.. the game does not seem to be suffering program wise.. it will run fine but the game is unplayable because the graphics are distorted on the top part of the screen.

A very similar graphics glitch can be observed when playing Warcraft 3 and The sims 2.

Any of you seen this problem?

I guess Ican go back to the previous drivers... but any suggestions before I revert?

BTW, the drivers did not fix the issue with CounterStrike :blah:

I'm having the same issue with my GeForceFX 5200 128mb model. Ever since I upgraded, I get shearing across the top of my screen. I've only run a few games lately, and thus far DoW is the only one to have a problem, but since I play this pretty often, I figure that I'll probably roll-back the drivers.

I have the same issue as all of you. Has anyone had an answer on this yet? I went to nvidia to read release notes and nothing about this game is mentioned.

try the latest nvidia beta, if not your only option is to roll back to previous version of the driver (assuming it worked then) and please report this to nvidia of the latest beta does not fix this issue

ForceWare 70.90 Win2000/XP: http://download.guru3d.com/detonator/

Hi
I've got the same problem. You will find if you run the game from a fresh reboot, the game will be fine.It only happens on my machine if I've run another program first.

I tried the beta ForceWare 70.90 Nvidia drivers and it appears to have corrected the problem. Thanks for the info :)
