Uhm, like... my units are missbehaving after patching to 1.1
When I tell them to stand their ground and use ranged weapons, my units walk/drive right up next to the enemy and stand there and shoot, and get massacred... it's making gameplay rather tedious. What's up with that? I can't build tanks and stuff anymore... only dreadnoughts and assault marines and assault terminators... units that to good on melee

Started a new game on the same map, mission 6, and this only seems to happen when they're near the water... weird.

Not exactly. The eldar soldiers are range attack my armor units. The eldar are in the water, my armored units are on land. My armor units, which are set to ranged attack, respond by charging the enemy and going into the water.
Picture this scenario: on the beach a little above the water sits my Predator tanks... and a couple of Dreadnoughts... they're set to stand ground, and ranged attack. Both blue icons. But when the enemy shows up, walking in the water, what do they do? They rush and attempt to melee attack the enemy... despite the fact that Predator tanks are ranged only :-\ So I think it's a bug. Importantly, it only happens near water. This is on mission 6.

Try turning off "attack move" in options. This solved alot of my unit misbehaving problems...

It's a bug. It happened to me too many times to count. I order an attack at the entrance to someones base, then I order them to attack the middle base, but instead of attacking whats in front of them, some of my squads proceed to the exact point I ordered to attack. They get killed quite easily this way.

Thanks for the tip fluxx... what exactly does 'attack move' do? I mean, you have all these command possibilities, I'd think it would be enough.

Attack-move = move to this location and attack anything on the way.
It seems to be very buggy, especially when trying to retreat units. For example; I tell a unit to fall back and my enemy follows me, for some reason my unit decides to turn around and start fighting again. I've lost countless games because of this, having units get totally wiped out when they should have only taken medium casualties is the suck. This is very frustrating because it causes more micro work than it should, so I think in the future I am going to turn attack-move off.
