Connection Problems

Ok,

I seem to be having terrible connection problems for online DOW games - this includes connecting to the servers AND to the actual games. I have a wireless network connection and an ADSL router with the appropriate ports forwarded.

Now, I HAVE managed to play a single game, one time. Which leads me to believe it is NOT firewall related (especially since I have forwarded all the required ports).

The connection problems are as follows:

1. When connecting to the online game lobby, it just sits there saying "connecting to online lobby". If i sit there for over 10 seconds, i find that my wireless network connection is actually disconnected when i alt-tab from the game. If I don't sit there for 10 seconds and alt-tab as fast as I can, then return to the game, I will actually make it into the lobby.

2. When i'm in the lobby, I experience great lag speaking to people in the chat.

3. All games listed in the "join games" menu are either un-pinged or at 999.

4. I am unable to join games when using the Automatch function.

Please help me find out what the problem is! I know that I am capable of playing online games from this machine, because I just spent 2 hours playing Counter Strike: Source. Please help me fix this problem, I HATE counter strike.

OK I can now give u a guarantee that if I DONT alt-tab while it is connecting (i.e. after i click "login" after entering my username and password), my wireless connection is disconnected. This is NOT coincidence, every time i click log in and wait for it to connect, my wireless connection is terminated.

WOW I can run in window mode and it connects every time! I still can't ping games properly, but I can get into the lobby - what the hell kind of problem is this?!
