Relic Announcement: The Release of Scardoc

Hello everyone,

We’re happy to announce the release of Scardoc, the official SCAR documentation library created for Dawn of War. We're hoping that releasing this will help simplify/clarify some of the work involved with creating single-player content for Dawn of War.

Scardoc is the output of Relic’s dynamic documentation system. Scardoc provides definitions and details for all of the available SCAR functions as well as a selection of entity blueprints, squad blueprints and weapon blueprints. When used in conjunction with the Attribute Editor, the Mission Editor and a working copy of Dawn of War, you have all the tools you need to make your very own single-player content!

Important things to note about Scardoc:

- This is a developer tool! It has some rough edges and links that may not be accessible, but it will point you to the location of the source file.
- This version of Scardoc is now a static archive, and we will not be updating it.
- All functions that require a localization ID are unsupported. Some functions such as those used by the Event System cannot take a “localized text string” and instead rely on a “$112233” value. These functions will not work without a number ID and this is an unsupported feature of the release build.

We hope that helps you guys (and girls) out! You can find the Scardoc on the Relic Developer Network (registration required):

Happy modding!

Is that a hint? ;)

Love,

Is there a chance to get that docs without the need for another registration?

You only have to register once to access the RDN, and read the Wiki (and the SCARdocs). If you want to EDIT the Wiki, you have to register access to do that, but not to READ the Wiki.

Be warned everyone: This ScarDoc is now out of date as of 1.3.

One major change was the removal of the fourth parameter in CPath_CutToPath - "blendin" - for no reason in the patch notes.

Still the ONLY place where scar functions are that I know of, so useful none the less.

Relic, I expect more as a modder and it cannot be hard to note the very few Scar changes somewhere? in the patch notes would be nice! I'm pretty sure this is the only change I've come across, and it took a little finding since the SCAR thing in the game is pretty bad at defining errors (and has no external checker or reference in the Relic's own wiki)

I don't know if this has been done before (couldn't see any updated files on the WIKI) but I've fixed the single player campaign tutorial files available as part of those Mission Editor tutorials.

FinalDeath do you want them to put on the WIKI? If they're waiting in the wings to be updated already then no worries.

Just played through the mission and seeing the Farseer and Chaos Sorceror talking like Orks was quite amusing! :)

Would there be a chance to have a new instance of scardoc now that WA is released? Maybe with the next version of the mod tools?

...how do you install/"build" scite? It says to build scintilla, using a C++ compiler and something about .NET framework...
then to do something similar with scite... why dose it require you to "build"?? :wtf:
And all that "complicated" stuff... and the scar file addon thing for textpad dosent seem to work... :wtf2:
HELP!

Scite is just a text editor/source code editor. It supports LUA syntax.

you can't build SCAR files. They are loaded by the game, not compiled.

The Textpad SCAR file...what do you mean, it works on my system, my install, I made it. I'm pretty confused about tihs.

Well since the link in the OP is outdated as Relic has removed mod tools from there site for DoW, I found the homesite for it

http://www.relicrank.com/frameset/frameset.htm

note: if you don't find a SCAR file, click type of file "all files" and you should find it.
