Hi all. I did search but was hoping to get some more specific info on running my set-up for a better DoW experience.

-Setup-

Athlon XP2000+
512 DDR (generic)
Maya Radeon 9000 Pro

I have used a few gfx ATi tweakers for optimising Ghost Recon but not for any RTS as demanding as DoW and was hoping for some details on what settings I should go for using a tweaker for my 9000 Pro. I know it's an older card but it's just playable at the moment and I think I could squeeze just a little more out of it with your guys advice.

In game settings you should be able to set everything on medium, maybe low shadows. Shadow detail level affects performance quite a bit.

The optimal settings depends on the resolution. I find my 8500 which is quite similar to your 9000Pro to have a hard time with warhammer.
Try running everything on low and shadows at none first and if it works good in your opinion even in big battles, try changing one or two settings to medium and re-play.Change Shadows for last.

I agree. I'd turn shadows off completely. I'm using a 9800Pro and I keep shadows off even with everything else on high or medium.

My girlfriend's computer has a 9000Pro/2100+/256MB and it seems to run fine with everything to set to low

I use a 9800 pro with a 2.6Ghz P4 C and 512Mb DDR 400mhz ram and still keep the settings to medium, i find it very annoying if ur in a big game and its starts lagging. With a 9000 pro you should really keep the settings to low, the card is quite dated now.
