Game patch version 1.10

I bought DoW when it first came out and have downloaded the patch from the DoWG website. When I try to run the damn thing I get the message:

Warning! Error.
Patching Error: This patch should not be applied to your version of Dawn of War.

WTF? I have an unmodded and unpatched version of the game so what is the problem?

You need to get the 1.01 patch first.

Sign into gamespy to download them in the right order.

I have problems with patch 1.10 too, but I do have 1.01 installed
When I want to install it (1.10), it gives me this message:
"Warning! Error.

Patching error: The patch file appears to be corrupted.
Please try downloading the patch again before proceeding."

I downloaded it 4 times from the same server, and 5 times from mirrors, but I get the same message all the time, help me please.
(BTW, I don't have any mods installed, I DO have added alternative banners/badges/teamcolours for space marines).
