CD #2 doesn't work

When I try to install the game, CD #2 doesn't seem to work. CD #1 installs fine, then a little screen comes up telling me to insert CD #2 -- but when I insert CD #2 I still get the same error message.

This seems to be a different error message than the stickied troubleshooting bugs that mention those errors involving whichever company it is that did the copy protection for these discs.

Disc #2 doesn't appear scratched -- it looks just fine.

Thanks, I'll try that.

I tried inserting disc #3 after clicking a few dozen times on disc #2, then tried all 3 discs again to see if it made a difference, but it was a no go.

Cd #2 and #3 each have an Auto Run file which calls a program which supresses the auto run file (I wonder why even bother putting an auto run file in -- it's not mandatory and since it closes itself it seems extraneous). I thus received a warning on copying discs #2 and #3 that there wa already an auto run file.

I also received a warning on copying disc #3 that there was already a supress auto run file, but I don't believe this to be an indication of an error.

CD #2 has a Data2 file and CD #3 has a Data3 file.

Whatever it is that prevents CD #2 from being recognized seems to somehow be related to the corrupted patch problem.

This problem, although probably related, does occur on computers that have never had Dawn of War installed before.
