Warhammer 40k movie

How come anyone has tryed to make a Warhammer movie ?i think it would cost a lot for the speacial effects but it would be great if someone made one.

its been discussed to death here and elsewhere. Also there have been a couple of abortive attempts at making a 40k movie.

Bad idea, usally when they make movies based off of a certian thing(ex. Book.) they don't follow the story well enought to make it good.

WH40k is a universe, not a story. When they make a film of a book they have to cut elements of the story to fit it into a film (or trilogy of films), with 40k a film would have to come up with its own storyline, characters etc. Because of this, theres little reason for a film studio to contain themselves within Games Workshop's fluff rather than simply invent their own science fiction universe with whatever alien species are needed for the story (since the 40k name itself isnt big enough to attract a large audience by itself).

The only Warhammer 40k movie I know of is Damnatus. It's a fan-made movie that Games Workshop has allowed solely because the fans have stressed that they will not make anyone pay a bloody penny for it.

UN-bloody pennies, however.. :o
