How do I join as an observer?

I have tried clicking the eye next to join game where it says to view the game as an observer. But everytime I try to join as an observer it says the game is full. I have tried joining games before they start, joining empty games with only one player, and joining games that were already in progress. The same result occured each time. I can still join games as a player. Any clue what I am doing wrong? Or is it a bug?

perhaps when you host a game you have to set some slots aside to be used by observers.

I just looked and saw no option for it in the settings. Of course, it could of been a snake that could of bit me <(^.^)> I also thought it might of been the router, so I disabled its firewall, that did not work.

well I havent tried out observer mode myself yet so all I can do is guess - when I had a 1v1 game earlier I could see all the other slots but they were closed (I was joining, not hosting) - Im guessing that the host can open one of those slots to allow an observer in.

I suspect TBS is spot on. If the hosts wants to allow observers he needs to set the observer slots to open to allow observers to enter the game.

How it works in a 4v4 I do not know as there does not appear to be the space for observer slots on the screen.

You both are right, looked into it this morning, one of the player slots has to be open for an observer. So nevermind <(^.^)>
