View Full Version : Melee-Bug fixed yet?

Yup; this is about the patch.

A long, long, long time ago; I posted something here, (Later moved to the Bug forum); that as soon as the enemy AI had upgraded a squad with a heavy weapon, or one of those Eldar platform things, they would refuse to fight back in melee using their close-combat weapons, and just shoot normally at their attackers until the carrier(s) of the heavy heapon(s)/platform(s) were killed.
And with 1% accuracy, they'd break in seconds, usually not surviving the pursuit.

This annoyed me greatly, as it looked so stupid.

I'd be all "Chaaarge!", but instead of being all :fencing:, they'd be all :sniper:. And then, of course, they'd be all :bricks:, and it wouldn't take long before they'd be all :sprint: , leaving me all :madashel:.

Now; I'm currently borrowing my copy of DoW to a friend, in exthange for his... special services. :luff:, and so I am pretty anxious, (Is that written correctly?), to find out.

So, I ask you who have the :new: version if you could tell me if this seems to have been fixed... please?

Thanks.

rofl... amusing use of the forum emotes :)

I do believe with the reworking of the stance system, this has been addressed.

Don't quote me on that, though ;)

I dont play against the AI...but I would assume so (the stance system has been completely redone).

Well; I've never quite had that problem with anyone but the AI, really.

human players usually notice when it happens and do something about it.

about it being fixed or about human players noticing if their troops are shooting at 1% accuracy?

I know that its fixed and I know that back in 1.2 if my troops suddenly decided that they were in F2 mode and that it would be a good idea to stand there shooting with 1% accuracy then I would always do something about it :p
