View Full Version : "Missing" hotkeys and unit selection bug

I've had problems with the following and I know a few others that have had the same problem. Basically what it seems like when you start playing is that your hotkeys are completely disabled and when you click on a unit it adds it to the units that are already selected. What I realized is that the game thinks you are holding control the whole time. To fix that just press ctrl at any point and your hotkeys magically work.

The problem is, I don't know how to fix it permanently. It also doesn't happen every time but nonetheless I start out each round pressing that control key because that's the only way to ensure that I won't break my computer in frustration. I hope this helps and if anyone finds a permanent fix to pressing control each round, speak up.

I have a problem where I assign a group to say "1" and then later on pressing F1 only finds some of the units not all and I have to reselect them.

Also, I can press "1" and the group is selected but I cannot issue them commands as they show selected on the models (green circles round feet) but nothing on my control panel as if no unit was selected.

Weird.

Dhaeman:

What language/keyboard settings are you using?

Apparently there's something about CTRL+1,2,3,4 and it gets sorted out...

This almost sounds like the Ctrl or Shift button is stuck down.

I have that damn keyboard bug like every second game.
When I have that bug the only keys that work are Shift CTRL and the numbers.
It is completely unplayeable with that bug as micro is effectively impossible!
Pressing the CTRL key as you suggested does not work :(

I'm using English/Default key settings...

And it basically acts like the control key is being held down but I can assure you it most certainly isn't.

K, find your keydefaults.lua file, and tell me what the version number of that file is.
