Something did for fun, some might enjoy, it's a small video (1.34m) we made during last hour, it's around 20mb, available both in italian and in english, check it out.
Edit: Link changed to a new host with unlimited bandwith, now everybody should be able to get the file. Thanks to Jean and NGI for hosting those two files.

I think It'd be much more stoic and honorable if they on top of I forget what map it is.
It has a Critical Point on a Massive platform with stairs, I think it'd look better to have enemies coming from all directions on say, 3 or 4 Tac marines ontop of the mountain, as they fire down at the enemy, they gain ground slowly towards the top. Maybe a Squad of Terminators as well, as they start to begin to be over taken, the squads start entering melee, and at the moment when about one or maybe two squads are left, enemies converging on them all at once, the Force Commander order an Orbital bombardment on their own position then charges towards the enemy Daemon Hammer Swinging. I think for effect it'd look good to have say just orks, in massive numbers of Sluggas and Shootas, Maybe a few Vehicles in the Back ground for effect like Kans and Trakks.
Nothing with explosive ordinance coming down on the hill that'd ruin the moment.
Ah well, I hope it's an idea someone will use. If it makes you feel any better, the hairs on the back of my neck stood up. ;)

I laugh at how quickly your puny server was murdered by us. :D
..seriously though, I want to see that movie. NOW. *leaps onto your head and clings to your face*
...Get 'nother server for us to murder!
I downloaded it at over 700k/sec - I apologise :p
It's not fair! Somebody - torrent the thing!

That's a good idea, actually. O_o
That new centralized BitTorrent is supposed to be easy to set up, too.

I didn't know I would have drawn so much attention with this small thing, anyway I'm trying to solve the problem and have them hosted on a friend's server, meanwhile i'm posting ED2K (E-Donkey/Emule) links hoping it could be helping:

I guess its cool for a basic movie, not really much out of the ordinary happening though. And the sound clips don't seem to tie up with any significant events.

I too agree with Suntzura. Not to be a jerk but I really didnt see anything out of the ordinary during the whole video. Was not impressed with the music either. Sorry.

This is a neat idea, maybe I'll try it, even if, not being Spike Lee I don't know what will come out =)

As for people being curious about the origin of the battle, well I must admit that was something definitely crappy =) I, for some reasons decided to observe a 3v3 comp stomp, saved the replay and liked the battle for the middle, since the 3 poor cpu almost managed to climb the stairs and reach the base of the human chaos, yes the guys dying under the stairs were unfortunate CPUs =)
yeah i agree, nice choice of music

I thought it was kind of short and uneventful myself. :(
Which sucks, y'know, 'cause of all of the problems finding it caused me (I mean, come on, you make me wait like a whole half a freaking day to see it?! FIEND!).

..Wha?
t'was sarcasm, yo. The second comment, at least. The first one was true-- nothing really happened in it. No victory, rather confusing statements on the soundtrack, and watching the action from the same angle for 70+ seconds.

I love the bit where the voiceoiver says "they arent coming for us" and then they all get hit by artillery ^_^

You are right Emiko, as far as you know is it possible to remove the GUI in game? That will come in handy if I'll decide to make another small vid

taskbar_off in console.
Instead of making some random movie like this, why not get creative and produce a story? Hah. I know. But regardless, you could start by "recapping" the intro in terms of an overhead shot. An SM platoon under attack by overwhelmic ork forces. They get rushed. Drednaught comes. They rally/charge/get pwned (lack of fluff...)/have the Sgt start capping the "crit" or "SP" and then have a whole bunch of drop pods come in. I'm sure you could do this in the world builder program...? Ahhhhh tirad.

uhm actually I am not Spike Lee, nor I want to run for oscar :) (even because producing such videos, considered my limited abilities in this field is extremely time consuming), but sometimes I find fun doing such things, I know they're nothing special but well, nobody's obliged to download afterall, anyway if I'll make some more videos I'll post them, of course it would be cool if some other people would try to produce some videos as well (at least myself will download them)

I kinda agree with boy on trying to tell a little story synced with music. I have made a lot of video game music videos before but have yet to do a PC game music video. I'll wait for Winter Assault to come out; I have an idea involving Imperial Guard and the song Sonne by Rammstein.
Other than that I still liked this video.

I didnt really like it either, because nothing actually umm, happened in it. A change in camera angle would have made it a lot better.

there's a bunch of commands in that screenshot thread - i think you can even remove all the green circles and broken squad markers, I think theres a mod specially designed for screenshots / movies.

Do you, by any chance, remember its name?
Sajuur
3rd Jun 05, 4:47 PM
message_hide - turns of the playback text
ingame_select_ui_toggle - turns off selection circles
ingame_stats_toggle - turns of health bars
cursor_hide - hides the cursor
taskbar_hide - gets rid of all on screen info
fog_toggle
You need -dev added to the command line for some of these, but not all.

Yes thank you Sajuur, I spotted your suggestion in another similar thread, but it was handy if there was a mod specifically designed for that purpose

You can try searching for it, although I havn't heard of it existing.
