deleted mods and lost game

please help, i stupidly tried to uninstall his righteous mod by deleting the whole game as it wouldn't install and now when i try to install the original game again an error comes up saying it cant find a path to execute, i cant play it or even update and its winding me up, anybody got any ideas?

Follow the instructions in this thread (http://forums.relicnews.com/showthread.php?t=51566) to navigate to the DoW entry in the registry...and delete it. Then go to reinstall.

ok, i gave it a try but no luck, went to install it again and got a box up that said "installation source not available. verify that it exists and you can access it. D:\DawnOfWar.msi" totally lost as to what i need to do.

well I guess you should start by seeing if you can access D:\DawnOfWar.msi. Its possible that your disk has been scratched or otherwise damaged.

well can you access that file? Have you checked the disk for scratches?

ok, the disc is in good condition, tried accessing the file but after running a search no joy, put the disc in and searched and it came up with the installer package, i tried to run that but it said it was on a network source that wasn't available, i tried again and it told me to find or enter an alternate path to "PatchPackage.msp", the only path available was "DOCUME~1\DANIEL~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\_is3\PatchSourceList" which did nothing, if i tried to delete it it sai it was a read only file and wouldn't do anything. i think i'll have to get a copy second hand and try.*update.* just tried it on my fathers pc and it installed no problem, just wont work on my pc, must've bug*ered it.

Is your PC up to date (XP SP2)? Have you run full spyware and virus scans?

Sounds more like an issue with Windows than with DoW.

yeah, i'm running all recent updates with sp2 etc, never had a problem till i tried to uninstall the mods i had on it, daemonhunter, cadian inquistion and his righteous mods. did another search and found an update from september last year that refuses to let me get rid of it, it states it cant be changed or deleted, must be a patch from around that time as i had no mods on it then. i'm gonna try copying all 3 discs to c drive and go from there.
