(P.S: Is a laptop faster than a destop PC? I am playing DOW on laptop and i wana know if there is any difference.)
You should update your graphics card drivers, theyre two years old.
The speed of any PC is determined by its components - a brand new laptop will outperform a 5 year old desktop PC, a brand new desktop PC will outperform a 5 year old laptop.
Components designed for mobile computing are generally slightly slower than desktop components in the same price bracket because they are designed to minimise heat output and power requirements.

do you use the pointer ghost effect if you do try disabling it.
https://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894&task=knowledge&folderID=27
However you may want to hunt down the 5.6 drivers - some people have reported problems with DoW on the 5.7's.
