my aunt came to stay at my house for a week after not seeing me for 4 years and gave me a handfull of cash. think this is worth is?:

defiler
lieutenant/lord
6 furies
1 obliterator

i already have 2 furies, 2 squads of CSM and lord (equipted this one wrong so i don't need him)

i just want to make sure i'm not wasting my cash on stuff i don't need.

write yourself out an Army list before you purchase anything.
Get it checked out here and once you've decided what list you want staert to buy

I say that you go on and buy stuff that complements/expands your existing list. Listing some random models here will not help anyone understand what you're going for in your army.

i've posted my army list here a couple of days ago but i changed most of it. and their not random models i thought of - i planed this but i'm just checking if its worth the money because GW is a rip off.

there is better things to buy than small pieces of plastic but i still get them. and i've been collecting for 2-3 months now and i've spent around £400 already (over £100 just on paints)

fufrikugel, ThirdDan is just telling you the truth if you want to buy cheap then this hobby is not for you.Its the hobby thats sucks you in, not the prices. (I have spent a total of S$700)

All that was said was buy what you need. If you don't feel it's worth the money don't buy it. We can tell you if the units will suit your army. But it is up to you if it is actually worth spending money on.

That was odd. Fufrikugel, i think you understood my position. What i was trying to say was, if you're going to buy minis because of their price and not it's effectiveness, or because you like it, you simply won't get as much out of this hobby. This is an expensive hobby, and debate it if you want but, sometimes you have to sacrifice things to get what you want.

ScoutR@ven, $700 is about the same as £400 (how much i've spent). i have only spent about one fifth on the actual minis.

does the predator come with lascannon side sponsons and lascannon turret?

It matters not how you painted them, the moddels themselves are awfull, and unless you did some dramatic converting, they will still be awfull.

A nicly painted captin cortez is still captain cortez and is therefore still crappy.

nothing wrong with the furies, ive seen some pretty nicely painted furies, and ingame, you cant go wrong with them! S5 I5 for 15 points. plus an invulnerable save. not too shabby.
