Ok to start off with I played DOW without any ports forwarded, joining a game was fine (load times took a while) but hosting was a nightmare, so i thought lets forward all these ports for DOW with my modem/firewall/router.

So I have forwarded them all and here are the results from the the Dawn of War network test applet:

Sending udp packet from 6112 to 6112
Received from /66.134.89.225:6112 to 6112 "udp pass"
Received from /66.134.89.225:6500 to 6500 "udp pass"
Received from /66.134.89.225:27900 to 27900 "udp pass"
Received from /66.134.89.225:27901 to 27901 "udp pass"
Received from /66.134.89.225:29910 to 29910 "udp pass"
Received from /66.134.89.225:47777 to 6667 "tcp pass"
Received from /66.134.89.225:47778 to 28910 "tcp pass"
Received from /66.134.89.225:47779 to 29900 "tcp pass"
Received from /66.134.89.225:47780 to 29901 "tcp pass"
Received from /66.134.89.225:47781 to 29920 "tcp pass"

Now you maybe thinking "Why is this chap even posting here when all his ports have been forwarded"

Well I get more lagg with those ports forwarded than what I do with them not forwarded, I mean what the hell is going on there eh????

I have turned off shadows as I was told that might have something to do with it (can't see how, A64 3000+ @2.2ghz 1 gig geil ram, x800pro u get the idea.... not exactly a machine you'd buy from PC world :D, but not the top of the range (had it since A64's came out S754)) but anyway, it made no difference.

XP Firewall is OFF so don't go down that route.
I have ALL outbound ports open.
Router is a Netgear DG632 and has the latest firmware.. I think......

This is the ONLY game i ever suffer lagg issues with, and some of those I don't even have the required ports open, they just work full stop. It would be nice to actually host/play a game, but this really does suck.

Manufacturer: ATI Technologies Inc.
Driver Date/Size: 6/29/2005 04:02:16, 232960 bytes

I see you have an ATI card with the latest drivers, that could be your lag problem right there. Try using the 5.6 drivers instead of the 5.7. The 5.7s have been known to cause lag while playing DoW. You could also try the Omega drivers.

Like i sad no lagg during 8 player ffa skirmishs, so am not tottaly convinced of that statement.

I'll give the Omegas a whirl tho

One other thing I can think of is to run a virus/spyware scan to make sure you don't have any other programs taking up your bandwidth.

Can I ask what kind of lag you might be getting?
