Best way to garner support is to do a little showcase of your work, demonstrate that you have the drive to produce stuff just for the heck of it :). If you make something good, PDS or the Dust Wars crew might pick you up... But then you say "new upcoming" mods, meaning mods that you intend to create? Same idea: produce something to start with, then you'll get the support you desire (if it's good stuff.)

It looks like to me if you want to get into modding, you have to learn everything yourself, maybe just download gmax and try to figure it out. Ive never had any modding experience at all, the only thing close was using cadkey (which ive heard is a lot irritating to use than most 3d design programs.) I'll just try until im good, even though i'll use up a lot of coffee and break a few keyboards in frustration while doing it.

lol Peter, I wish maya was more like cadkey... Granted, I took a course in it at university, but it's so much easier to do precise work. I've got a ship design now that I could have had done by now if I was using cadkey.

Use CAD, make the model, convert to a format supported by Maya ^_^.
That's what I do =B.

hahah I didnt know you could :p
I've already got the basic hull of my own ship worked out, and figured out how to texture it. Now I just gotta carve the holes for the popup turrets, make the turrets, texture it all and then hod it.
simple

Black omega, your ship looks like an advanced version of the 1970's cylon ship.
Are you going to put it in the game?
I like it, but the bit where the forward wings join to the main hull looks too spindly for a capital ship.

If you want see this ship in the game, you must import my ship into game because I'm only modeling and texturing. Is there someone who could done this? when you say "yes I do it!" I give you ship and we will speek about parameters and if we settle you see this ship in the game:)

it's a nice design, but in the first pic it looks meaner, beefier. I know it's just the perspective playing tricks, but it looks a fair bit heavier in the first pic, while the second pic makes it look a lot more delicate (or spindly, like unknown said).
