My main problem is that I am using a laptop, which isn't supported by nivida but by toshiba. There last update for my driver is 2-3 years old. sigh...

Here are my files.
big-Al: google for omega drivers and use those.
Everyone else: update your graphics drivers!

Thanks Moe, I downloaded the Omega drivers for my Dell Latitude Laptop and that work. Folks that use laptops play DoW, too!

dark - right click your desktop go to properties then click on the settings tab..you should see it there
and for those having trouble on notebooks, the omega drivers also solved the problem for my buddy on a toshiba with a gforce 5200go or whatever it was.

Ok, I have another problem maybe one of you gents can help me with.
I dowloaded the most recent drivers for my card (nvidia GeForce FX5200) and when I go to run it, the "hourglass" comes up for a half second then disappears and nothing happens....
I've never had any problems updating drivers before. I ran Spybot, Ad-aware, and Microsoft anti-spyware because I seem to remember someone saying something about some spyware that caused them to have the same problem, but nothing came up.
Do you have any software running in the background (virus scanners, firewalls, etc)? If so then shut them down. If that fails then try redownloading the drivers - its always possible that the file was corrupted during transfer.

Well, I got my problem fixed anyways. Apparently the drivers I d/l from nVidia wouldnt even run, but I tried the Omega drivers and they worked just fine.

ok heres the thing when i got to download the 1.3 patch the backround on everything was pink ,now what the hell happened here!?
and guys my graphics card is suposidly the recomended for dawn of war (if u look on the box) 64 mb NVIDIA GeForce 2
but when i got the download it said while i was installing it that it has not found any nvidia geforce card on system
Hmm, your card could be faulty...did you upgrade to the latest drivers like I said?
Dark_Avenger
13th Sep 05, 4:19 PM
well like i said when i tried to upgrade them it said this upgrade didnt find anyplace to upgrade into and said if i comntinue it could damage the computer greatly
also im just getting the last patch now (since my rienstall)
also id like to say that the backround i always had before was black (and yes i know there is suposed to be a picture where the backround is black)
Try uninstalling your graphics card drivers completely and then installing the latest official or omega drivers clean.

man i really need to find an easiers way to do this cause i dont want to delete anything cause i will probalbly find more problems by deleting this card i will try it if nothing else works
and yes i reinstalled the 1.4 patch and it still doestn work
GeForce 2? Is that thign even supported?

16th Sep 05, 5:09 PM
well i actually found out that it is geforce 3 that is recomended but still its technecally double the minimum required card
well guys i thank u all for trying but my graphics card is to crapy to update so i would have to buy a new one ...but my computer is to crapy to really get a new one.
im looking into getting one of those gaming computers meant just for games while this computer can do the other stuff i need it to do(and trust me ive seen some really good computers with top of the line cards so play with and they surprisingly cost about the same as this computer
if u guys think of anything that would work other than installing new stuff just tell me
but really dont try too hard on it
