i get an error at the end of installation saying that files have been moved or modified.
i havent messed withit and i dont have any mods installed.
what do i do?
does that make a warning log?
same here. trying different location (initially downloaded from GameSpot)

i got the torrent file
but it says that somethings wrong with my dow im gonna try a reinstal
I did reinstalled the game, installed all patches up to 1.3, but 1.4 still does not work - says that it is corrupted, please download again :banghead:
Ok, it WAS corrupted file. I downloaded file from
http://www.vorbereitungstagung.de/dowpatch/dow_patch_14.html
and now it is fine. :werd:
The torrent file is not corrupted.

Sometimes files get corrupted during download especially when using segmented downloading (like torrent). I downloaded patch in 2 copies and i got the same error from torrent but the one downloaded "normally" was fine.
Also check Your C: disk space (or the disk where the %TEMP variable is set).

I'm having the same problem, keeps saying files were missing or changed or something. No idea what to do.

Relic, can you make a corrupted patch repairer so we dont have to download the 200 megs again?
....

altho a pain in the a@$ a total reinstall helpe it works now. mighta had my files modified byt that tau mod that i instaled and never got to play online and had to uninstall a while ago.. :(

Yes, that's probably what caused it. As a general precaution, you should always remove all custom data before attempting a patch.

i installed the community map packs I-III, but I don't know if/how I should get rid of them. (ps, i am terrible with computers)

There's no need to get rid of them. Most if not all should work fine with 1.4(possible exception, Inquisitors Fortress).
