System lockup after starting WA

Every time I try to start WA, my computer locks up before leaving the desktop. I have tried everything on it and nothing helps. DOW works 90% of the time and I have run virus scan and a spyware killer. DOW used to lockup in the opening movies but I fixed that with -nomovies. What do I do here?




-edit: I got it to work by making it think it had loaded the game before so the -nomovies worked, but it still locks up when I try to start the campagin. I'm 99% sure that its the games movies that are messing stuff up. Anyone know how to fix it?

I tried disabling movies on my copy as well, but the dang thing crashes still, almost every time. When the game does run, it is pretty choppy and slow, but most of the time it crashes before even reading the cd, and I am just stuck with a frozen desktop. this is extremely frustrating, has anyone found a solution to this?
